Freestyle Libre 1 & 2 Sample Patch Pack

Not sure whether you’ll prefer our Cotton or Smooth patch? This sample pack lets you try both materials before choosing a full pack.

Each sample pack contains:

1 × Cotton patch
A soft, flexible patch with a noticeable woven, plaster-like texture. Available across our full range in up to 13 colours.

1 × Smooth patch
A smooth nylon patch with a soft, velvet-like feel and a flatter finish. Available in 6 colours.

Each sample pack contains one random-coloured Cotton patch and one random-coloured Smooth patch. Colours cannot be selected for sample packs.

Both materials use an acrylic adhesive, but the adhesive performance and feel can vary slightly between the two materials. Because everyone’s skin, activity level and routine are different, one material may work better for you than the other. Please try both before deciding which style you prefer.

Suitable for Freestyle Libre 1 and 2

These patches are shaped for use with Freestyle Libre 1 and Freestyle Libre 2 sensors.

They are designed to help provide additional support around the sensor during everyday wear, exercise, showering and other activities.

Designed for comfortable wear

• Hypoallergenic acrylic adhesive
• Latex-free
• Water-resistant
• Flexible and comfortable against the skin
• Can last for up to 18 days when applied correctly
• Optional non-stick centre backing included

The optional non-stick centre sits over the sensor area so the patch does not stick directly to the sensor. This can make it easier to remove or replace the patch without pulling on the sensor.

The backing is optional and can be removed when you would prefer the patch to adhere fully across the centre.

Application instructions

Correct preparation and application can make a significant difference to how well your patch adheres and how long it lasts.

1. Prepare the skin

Apply only to clean, completely dry skin.

Before applying:

• Remove any moisturiser, body lotion, oil, sunscreen or residue from the area.
• Avoid applying immediately after using moisturising shower gels or oily skincare products.
• Make sure the skin is fully dry before beginning.
• Avoid applying over body hair where possible, as this can reduce adhesion.

Even a small amount of oil or moisturiser can prevent the adhesive from bonding properly.

2. Avoid touching the adhesive

Try not to touch the adhesive side of the patch with your fingers, particularly around the edges.

Natural oils from your hands can weaken the adhesive before it reaches the skin.

Use the backing paper to hold and position the patch wherever possible, peeling it away gradually as you apply.

3. Apply carefully

Position the patch centrally over your Freestyle Libre sensor and smooth it down gradually.

Avoid stretching the patch during application, as this can create tension and cause the edges to lift.

Work slowly from the centre outwards, making sure there are no folds, bubbles or creases.

4. Press firmly

Once applied, hold the patch firmly against the skin for 60–90 seconds.

Pay particular attention to the outer edges, pressing and warming them with your fingers to help activate the adhesive.

5. Allow the adhesive to settle

Where possible, avoid showering, swimming or intense exercise immediately after application.

Giving the adhesive time to bond properly can help improve wear time and reduce early lifting.
