Medtronic Guardian 4 Sample Patch Pack

Our Medtronic Guardian 4 Sample Pack includes one patch in each material, allowing you to try both textures and adhesives before choosing a full pack.

Each pack contains two patches in total:

1 × Cotton patch
A soft and flexible patch with a clearly visible woven, plaster-like texture. Our Cotton patches are available in up to 13 colours across our full-size packs.

1 × Smooth patch
A smooth nylon patch with a soft, velvet-like feel and a flatter, less textured finish. Our Smooth patches are available in six colours across our full-size packs.

Both materials use an acrylic adhesive, although the adhesive formulation and performance can differ slightly between the two materials. One material may therefore suit your skin, routine and activity level better than the other.

We recommend trying both patches before deciding which material works best for you.

Random colours

Each Sample Pack contains:

• One randomly selected Cotton colour
• One randomly selected Smooth colour
• Your chosen patch shape

Colours cannot be selected for Sample Packs.

Once you have found your preferred material, our 10- and 20-patch packs allow you to choose your exact colours.

Designed for Medtronic Guardian 4

These patches are shaped for use with the Medtronic Guardian 4 sensor and transmitter.

They provide additional support around your device during everyday wear, exercise, showering and other activities.

Individual wear time can vary depending on skin type, preparation, placement, activity level and exposure to water.

Optional non-stick centre

The patch includes an optional non-stick centre backing.

This prevents the centre of the patch from sticking directly to the Guardian 4 transmitter, allowing the patch to support the surrounding skin without adhering to the device itself.

This can make removing or replacing the patch easier and helps reduce pulling on the transmitter.

The non-stick centre is optional and can be removed when you would prefer the patch to adhere across the full surface.

Application instructions

Correct skin preparation and careful application can make a significant difference to adhesion and wear time.

1. Apply to clean, dry skin

Before applying your patch:

• Make sure the skin is completely clean and dry.
• Remove any moisturiser, body lotion, oils, sunscreen or product residue.
• Avoid applying immediately after using moisturising shower gels.
• Allow the skin to dry fully after showering or cleaning.
• Avoid applying over body hair where possible.

Even a small amount of oil or moisturiser can prevent the adhesive from bonding properly.

2. Avoid touching the adhesive

Try not to touch the adhesive side of the patch with your fingers, especially around the outer edges.

Natural oils from your hands can weaken the adhesive before it reaches your skin.

Use the backing paper to hold and position the patch wherever possible. Peel the backing away gradually as you apply it.

3. Position the patch carefully

Position the patch centrally around your Guardian 4 device.

Apply it gradually and smooth it down from the centre towards the outer edges.

Do not stretch the patch during application, as this can create tension and cause the edges to lift.

Make sure there are no folds, bubbles or creases.

4. Press for 60–90 seconds

Once applied, press and hold the patch firmly against your skin for approximately 60–90 seconds.

Focus particularly on pressing down the outer edges.

The warmth and pressure from your hands help the adhesive begin bonding to the skin.

5. Allow the adhesive to settle

Where possible, avoid showering, swimming, sweating heavily or exercising immediately after applying the patch.

Allowing the adhesive time to settle can improve adhesion and reduce early lifting.
